Trusted Traveler Programs
Trusted Traveler Programs Signup Website
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security website is where travelers can apply for Trusted Traveler Programs such as TSA PreCheck and Global Entry. Trusted Traveler Program members use expedited clearance lanes on arrival at U.S. airports and when crossing international land and sea borders.
TSA PreCheck
TSA PreCheck Website
TSA PreCheck gives trusted travelers a speedier security experience in dedicated lanes across the U.S. Get five years of benefits for $85 or less. With TSA PreCheck, you can leave in your bag electronics and 3-1-1 liquids. You may also leave belts on, light jackets, and shoes.
On the website, you should familiarize yourself with the steps to utilize PreCheck.
TSA PreCheck benefits are not automatic. You need to have the TSA PreCheck indicator on your boarding pass. To get the TSA PreCheck indicator to appear on your boarding pass you must: Add your Known Traveler Number (KTN) in the ‘KTN' field of all airline reservations, double-checking you enter the digits correctly. Confirm that your name in the airline reservation matches the name used during enrollment. This includes your middle name or middle initial if one was used on your application.
Our Comments
Is it worth paying for TSA PreCheck?
Keep in mind that if you pay the fee with some credit cards, they will credit the fee back to your account.
If you frequently fly domestic, this could be a time saver for you. We often see much shorter PreCheck security lines compared to normal security lines. There is also the benefits of less hassle when it comes to electronics, liquids, belts, jackets and shoes as mentioned above.
Global Entry
U.S. Customs and Border Protection - Global Entry Website
Global Entry is a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Trusted Traveler Program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States. The application fee is $120, and membership lasts for five years. All applicants must undergo a background check. It's important to note that when you apply for Global Entry, TSA PreCheck is included.

Is it worth paying for Global Entry?
Keep in mind that if you pay the fee with some credit cards, they will credit the fee back to your account.
If you don't fly international, then Global Entry does not benefit you as it only applies to people arriving back in the United States from a foreign country. However, if you fly international on occasion and your credit card covers the fee, we think this is a better option as Global Entry also includes TSA PreCheck.
Capital One
If you have the Capital One Venture Rewards card and pay for either TSA PreCheck or Global Entry using the card, they will give you up to a $120 credit.
